The casualties box looks like this at the end of the game. The US squads absorbed the casualties well but the german paras lost a quarter of its strength which, despite being elite, was tough to swallow. This provoked a domino effect of morale with the half squad next to them also willing to retreat and eventually the other half squad near the forest broke and ran.
Was a very satisfying game that illustrates a credible firefight during D-Day, just not a reenactment of any situation i’ve came across in any history book, but that’s the beauty of wargaming and especially with miniatures. Can setup any scenario we need on the fly.
