As a follow up from my most recent activities is the game jam Postcards from the Front 2023,organised primarily by Hissycatstudio. It features a magnificent panel of contributors to the finalist projects and first and foremost being a great opportunity for aspiring hobbyists to sample out a design in a fairly difficult package format.
I am baffled at pedigree waving even done in a most innocent form (?) to make conversation and share some “veteran” nostalgia to impress the new generations.
Again I am struck with awe by the insistence of many rules sets in breaking down perfectly authentic and historical combat formations

I am lucky enough to be able to have a more or less permanent 6×4 table for the games. But I’m unfortunate enough to be able to have only one table permanently setup.
Atlantic Chase is not even remotely one of the games I often pull from the shelves as it does not fall into my favourites list but…
Everyone must be taught History with all the magnificence and decadence and how we reached the Present, and most especially discuss it but… a game is a game is a game.
– Accessibility is finding the game anywhere, everywhere.
– Complexity is the willingness of the players to learn.
All I needed next was a campaign map…a board…maybe even a calendar…something to move the armies.
